Yoga, Pilates & Calisthenics classes in Newquay for all levels

Nestled in the outskirts of Newquay, here at Shiva Studio we offer a range of classes suitable from total beginner to intermediate & advanced practitioners . We provide all of the equipment but if you have your own mat, then please bring that along.

Calisthenics: Bars, Rings & Pulling

Featuring pull-ups, rows, holds and hangs. Whether you’re just starting out or working on advanced skills like muscle-ups or front levers, this equipment supports full-body strength, grip and mobility. 

Think of it as training that builds not just power-but control, coordination and confidence in your own body.

ALL LEVELS WELCOME! You’ve got to start somewhere and we have all the props to support you!

Calisthenics: Handbalance & Press

These sessions develop upper body strength, shoulder stability and core control while teaching you how to move with precision and ease.

Whether you’re holding your first wall-supported handstand or refining your press, this is a powerful way  to connect with your body and challenge your limits.

Calisthenics: Movement Fundamentals

Calisthenics Movement Fundamentals is the perfect starting point for building strength, mobility and body awareness through natural, functional movement. 

In this class, you’ll explore core calisthenics patterns like squats, hangs, pushes, pulls and transitions. It’s about developing control, coordination and confidence in your body through smart, sustainable training.

Ideal for beginners or anyone wanting to refine their technique and build a strong foundation for more advanced skills.  

Primal Movement & Mobility

This dynamic fitness class blends natural movement, yoga, calisthenics and martial arts into one powerful, playful experience. You’ll crawl, twist, push and pull your way through fun instinctive movements your body was designed to do.

It’s a full body workout that challenges strength, endurance, mobility and coordination in ways that feel both energising and empowering. 

Classial Pilates

Here at Shiva Studio our Pilates classes are adapted to suit the level of the students so both beginners and advanced practitioners are welcome. Our Pilates teachers are classically trained and always provide modifications and adaptations to the exercises being taught, to make the movements available to every body and every mobility level.

Rocket Yoga

Rocket Yoga is dynamic and fast-paced with a structure that is similar to that of Ashtanga Vinyasa, consisting of a warm-up (Surya Namaskar A + B) before flowing through standing poses, seated poses, and ending with the traditional closing series. Just more fun, more transitions and good tunes! We offer Rocket yoga on the first friday of every month at 7am!

Acro Yoga

Join us for a 75 minute class starting with a yoga warm up to great beats, followed by handstand conditioning (no previous handstand knowledge necessary) and then the really fun bit… playful partner yoga! We’ll wind down the class with some deep rest and relaxation.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga

A dynamic, breath-led practice that connects movement and mindfulness. You’ll move through creative sequences that build strength, flexibility and balance, all while staying connected to your breath. 

This class is perfect for building both physical resilience and mental clarity, helping you feel energised, grounded and present in your body.

Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is a slow, steady and deeply restorative practice  designed to release tension and create space, in both body and mind. 

In this class, you’ll hold gentle poses for longer periods, targeting the deeper connective tissues,  like fascia, joints and ligaments. A powerful reset for your nervous system and a beautiful way to unwind.  

Slow Flow Yoga

A gentle & restorative yoga class; taking time to transition between poses, focusing on alignment & control. Perfect for those looking to ease back into the practice or just looking for some time to relax & stretch.

Beginners Yoga Course

Our Beginners Yoga Course is the perfect starting point for anyone new to yoga or looking to revisit the foundations. 

Through this 6 week course, you’ll learn the core postures, breath techniques and basic alignment principles that form the heart of a safe and confident yoga practice. We take it slow, explain everything clearly and create space for questions and exploration. 

6 Week Mum & Baby Yoga Course

Come and meet a community of new parents in a yoga class that can help you tone, strengthen and reconnect with your body through breath and specific postnatal exercises. Bond with your baby in yoga poses you can do together along with singing and massage.

Starting from when your baby is 6 weeks for women with vaginal birth, or 8 weeks for caesarean birth – up to when your baby becomes mobile.

Pre Natal Yoga

Pregnancy yoga encourages women to keep moving and supple and hopefully avoid or reduce hip and back pain. Suitable for all pregnant women after 12 weeks gestation, no previous experience of yoga is neccessary. This class runs as a regular weekly class and not a block.

Monthly Pre-School Kids Yoga Worshop

Join us on the last Saturday of every month! Just £10 for one adult and child (ages 2–5). Our fantastic teacher Erica will guid you and your little one through this 45 minute classes through stories, treasure hunts, yoga shapes, props and wind down time

Self Practice Ashtanga Mysore Style Yoga

A silent practice – “Mysore style Ashtanga Yoga” or as we like to call it here at Shiva; “Self practice”.  We simply want to open the studio for those who want to do their own yoga or movement but in their own time and under their own rules. It doesn’t have to be the traditional Ashtanga Yoga sequence; some rock up & practice Rocket yoga, some Vinyasa Flow.  We really encourage movement of any style here at Shiva, to keep both the mind and body healthy. Be free, enjoy the fluidity of your body and practice in a room with others to vibe off the energy around you. We offer this every Friday at 7am

1-2-1’s Private Yoga Sessions

Whether you’re interested in Calisthenics, Yoga, or Pilates, our studio offers personalised private sessions—available one-on-one, with a partner, or in a small group.  This will be led by one of our highly qualified and experienced teachers which we will tailor pick to who we believe is best suited for your needs.

We charge £60 for a 60minute session and an extra £5 per person.

200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training

Our Yoga Teacher Training Course (YTTC) offers an incredible opportunity to connect with yoga on a profound level, exploring both its physical and spiritual dimensions. All this unfolds in the breathtaking coastal surroundings of Cornwall.
