What to expect from our kids after school yoga classes...
At Shiva our After School Lil Yogi Club is designed just for kids from the ages of 5-10(ish), mixing yoga poses with games, music, storytelling, and even a little quiet time- designed to be the perfect mix of movement, mindfulness, and play. When kids arrive, they’re welcomed into a relaxed, supportive space where they can let go of the day. We start with gentle warm-ups and fun yoga poses. There’s music, storytelling, games, and sometimes a little creative movement or partner work, all woven in with basic breathing exercises and moments of calm. We wrap up with a short relaxation (think cozy resting pose with soft music or a mini guided story) to help kids feel grounded before heading home.
It’s active, imaginative, and never pressured. Every class is about helping kids feel good in their bodies, connect with their breath, and enjoy a little break from the busy world around them.
Kids after school club schedule
We will be running our After School Lil Yogi Club in term time block booking. Every Thursday from 3:45-4:30pm.Whether they come in full of wiggles or a little worn out from the day, yoga helps kids reset in the best way: through movement, mindfulness, and fun.
This is also a perfect time for parents to have a pocket of time just for you. Our cafe will be open next door so feel free to come in and see us and get yourself a drink. Treat yourself to some down time whilst you wait for your little one to stretch, move, and calm their mind.
What your little ones need to bring to their kids yoga class...
Ideally please arrive 5 minutes before class and encourage children to leave coats and shoes in the corridor. There are plenty of hooks and cubby holes to leave belongings. No prior experience of yoga is needed. All kids need is comfy clothes, a water bottle, and a willingness to move and have fun. We’ll take care of the rest!

Why? Yoga offers so many amazing benefits for children, both physically and emotionally. It helps kids build strength, flexibility, and balance, all while improving their focus and concentration—great for everything from schoolwork to everyday tasks. At Shiva we also introduce tools like deep breathing and mindfulness, which can help kids manage stress, big feelings, and daily ups and downs. Even more importantly, it encourages confidence, body awareness, and a sense of calm—all in a fun, supportive environment where they can be themselves.
